FFS Device Type Idenentifiers

I submitted a request at https://developer.amazon.com/frustration-free-setup/console/onboard/request-device-registration for device type identifiers but I haven't received a response yet.

I'm using NXP's SLN-ALEXA-IOT Dev Kit and I'm trying to ensure I am requesting the correct information for this device or if I'm wasting time.

The following is what is specified in the documentation:

5.1 Prerequisites

This section requires you to create a product as described in section Creating an Alexa AVS product. You must obtain a new device type identifier for FFS from Amazon. To obtain an identifier, you can request help from an Amazon point of contact. Alternatively, you can submit a request at https://developer.amazon.com/frustration-free-setup/console/onboard in the Request a new device type identifier section.

5.2 Generating metadata JSON file

A metadata.json file must be generated based on the template presented in Figure 4. The following fields must be manually populated according to the information provided by Amazon (after registering a new FFS account): “client_id”, “device_type”, “dss_pub_key” and “ffs_pid”.

@aimore and @hayden,

Yes, you will need to create a device type identifier through the FFS Developer Portal. We're currently working through a backlog of requests, so expect a response shortly.
