Setting up testing for FireTV App

I see the ability to create a test app & invite users to test via e-mail. I have a FireTV application that I want to do this with. Is it possible to do the following:

- test a new version of an already published application (that is already installed on the user device)

- send to a select group of users via e-mail or account that they can just click on or download from their Fire TV?

I basically want to be able to avoid having to sideload the application if possible.

Hi,

Live App Testing offers all of the features you are looking for.

Check out the documentation here: https://developer.amazon.com/docs/app-testing/live-app-testing-understanding.html

Thanks,

Hi @Mike@Amazon. Thanks for the quick response. I just wanted to verify that if we do share test to a list of e-mails, will this work only for the e-mails that are provided? Say we e-mail a user by a known e-mail address, but the e-mail is not their amazon/firetv registered e-mail. Will that still work for them to test as long as they receive a link to the test?

Hi,

You will need to send the invitation to the email address associated with the Amazon account (and device) they will be using to test.

If you send the invitation to another email address, it will not work.
