How to connect Android TV App with Echo Dot

Well we have developed a TV LAuncher app for custom Android box now is that possible to send some command from echo dot to TV App, so that on certain text receivers or action I can perform some action accordingly.

Note: Box doesn't have any support for Alexa Integration

Hello and thanks for posting.

Generally speaking, an Alexa skill needs to communicate with a publicly accessible endpoint.

So you would need to have a public endpoint receiving the commands from a custom skill, and send the action to perform to your TV Launcher App, that will be listening for them.

Here is an example of a scenario:

1) User launches your Launcher App on the Android Box
2) Your Launcher App starts the listening for a given command
3) User says: "Alexa, ask <my skill> to open {service}
4) Your skill's backend receives the value of the { service} slot, and sends the command to your Launcher App that started the listening on point 2.

The communication protocol is up to you, just make sure that the listener of your Launcher App is accessible from the skill's backend.

Kind regards,
Gaetano
