Best microcontroller to use with Alexa? (MASS MARKET)

Developing a product that I want to be controlled by Alexa (AVS). Currently using a 8266 NODEMCU to prototype and that's working great but its functionality with Alexa seems vague. Anyone have experience choosing a microcontroller for mass market?

The Alexa Connect Kit platform recommends NXP (LPC4322 MCU), STM (STM32 G0), and Nuvoton (NuMircro M032) so you may want to start there.
