Early in November, I created a Contact Us case asking for an explanation about how purchases from non-local marketplaces are calculated. In particular, what conversion and eventual tax rates were used. Right after that, my case was escalated to 'the appropriate team for further investigation.' However, looks like that 'appropriate team' is MIA, or more likely the financials done by Amazon are not really clean.
In case of such purchases, why Amazon is not including those two items (conversion and tax rates) in the report in the first place? It is about financials, and it is disturbing when Amazon is not transparent about it.
I saw some KB articles that stated that Amazon is not providing any tables for those values, and I understand that it may be too difficult for Amazon developers to handle. However, when a sales report is generated, those values should be known, and as such included in a given sales report. If those values are not included there, it may imply that Amazon is picking some favorable rates from a hat for a given sales report.
Thank you, Jacek
