Development skill unavailable for use in Routine

Today I deployed an initial version of a skill I'm building. I've tested the skill, and it works great on all my Echo devices. I want to add the skill to my night routine, but it's not listed in the list of custom skills.

Can unpublished, in-development skills be used in routines? If so, how do I go about adding it?

Hi Dylan. Currently, only skills that have been published live and are available in the Alexa skills store can be added to routines.

That said, as a developer you can submit feature requests and ideas in our uservoice space via the following link:

That should be a basic functionality to create "private" skills only linked and usuable to/with our developer account.

As the previous comment suggests, I'm pretty sure most people do not want to go commercial with skills but only add custom skills to their Alexa environment.

HiHo YoU pEoPle OuT tHeRe

A lot of us dev PPL feel the urge to tony stark our smarthome and we dont even care about publishing skills we made

Just kindly asking for fully functional private skills, so we dont need to publish our very own custom shizzle that no one else cares for, just to get the gucci things like routine integration

THANK U

You can achieve this by creating your routine and add a Custom Action in which you can type what you would like Alexa to do. So you can use something like "Alexa, open my dev skill" as your routine trigger.
