Device key

Hello,

I would like to know about the purpose of device key.
In the following document, we need to get the device key from your develoer portal site. But I can't understand the purpose (usage) of device key. Please let me know, Does your SDK require this device key or any other purpose.

Hi there,

The device key is used to recognize your product in our device setup service backend. Each product you wish to launch with simple setup must have its own device key. Once we provide this key, you add it as a parameter in the SDK.


You can request this key by heading to the developer console: https://developer.amazon.com/frustration-free-setup/console/wifi/request-static-keys

Thank you for your answer. I understand what is the device key.

In the following sites, 5 has already been entered in the "Number of Certificates" field and is fixed. I would like to know why.
