Your app solicits customers for reviews of your app in exchange for user rewards or bonuses.

No matter what we do to get someone from Amazon to try and explain what part of our app or text they believe violates this policy all we get back is the title of this post. No where in our app do we ask customers for review. So unsure how we can proceed in getting our app in to the store.

@Ronnie,

I would like to clarify that rejection reason. Can we assume that the app can solicit customers for reviews, as long as it is not "in exchange for user rewards, ..."? Basically, as long as the app is just asking for reviews, that's OK?

Thank you, Jacek

Hi Jacek,

Please review our content policy guidelines for more information: https://developer.amazon.com/docs/policy-center/understanding-content-policy.html

Thanks!

Hi Ronnie,

It is kind of lame, that you cannot point to exact guidelines, and at the same time expect us to do what you have problems doing. You do represent Amazon, and you have an option to reach to people that may understand the problem better.

Looking further into 'Developer Policy Center' guidelines, I found those two items that are related to the original question, and my request for clarification:

- https://developer.amazon.com/docs/policy-center/listing-promo.html#ratings-reviews-and-installs

- https://developer.amazon.com/docs/policy-center/monetization.html#examples-of-monetization-and-advertising-violations

The first is a guideline, and only prohibits any form of incentives in exchange of reviews/ratings. The second is a bit weak, as that is just a list of two examples of violating guidelines.

Neither of those links prohibits soliciting ratings/reviews by the app, if there is nothing offered in exchange.

Would you be able to confirm that? Did I miss anything in those guidelines?

Thanks, Jacek

I have used your contact us form and all you do is reply with the exact same message which is Your app solicits customers for reviews of your app in exchange for user rewards or bonuses with no more details. You seem unable to point me to where in my app you think violates this policy. I don't ask for customer reviews full stop in my app so can not think for the life of me why I violate this policy.
