Alexa APL Designer: Push to Device error

When using the APL Designer to create an interface for the Echo Show device, we currently cannot preview the screen on the device. Instead, we receive the error:


Push to Device error
There was an error pushing the template to the device. - Thursday, Jan 31, 2019, 11:49 AM


The Chrome developer console shows a failed request with an internal server error:

POST https://developer.amazon.com/alexa/console/ask/displays/pushToDevice
Status Code: 500 Internal Server Error
{"errorCode":-8005}


The preview function worked last week and we have made no changes to our Echo Show device or the account since. Even an empty template or one of the example templates (e.g. image display example) do not work. We restarted the device multiple times to no avail.

  • Device Serial Number (DSN):
  • Skill Request received by the skill: <This can be captured by logging the skill request you get when the skill is invoked>
  • Skill response containing the APL and any applicable datasources: <This can be captured in the Test tab of the skill developer console>
  • Screenshot of the authoring tool: <Link to a screenshot of the authoring tool if relevant>
  • Picture(s) of device(s) affected: <Link to pictures of device issues. Videos if the issue is related to animation/interactions>
  • SW Build number on the respective device(s): <Accessible by pulling down the notification tray, click on Settings>Device Options->Check for software updates>

Experiencing the same error( Status Code: 500 Internal Server Error)

@Oliver@Amazon these questions are totally irrelevant as the 500 error is the server side error which means the service is down.

This is still occurring. It occurs with all my devices, Echo Show, Echo Dot and Fire TV. It occurs with all templates. So it must be easy to re-produce.
