Do I have to look for a 480p HDMI monitor to test 480p resolution?

As the Fire TV test criteria requires the app to support 480p resolution, how can we test it out?

I've been researching but the hidden display option of 480p seems to be gone on my Fire TV gen1 (AFTB) and Fire TV Stick 4K (AFTMM).

Hi there,

Thanks for posting! No, you don't need to look for a physical 480p monitor. If your app has been built using recommended best practices for screen resolution, as outlined here:

https://developer.android.com/guide/practices/screens_support

then your app will look great at any resolution. However, it is highly recommended to test your app on a real / physical TV, even if it's a 1080p or 4K TV. One other option to ensure that it looks good at any resolution, is to use the Android TV emulator, please find more details here:
