Whispercast for Apps

Hello, Concerning the recent blog post on Bulk App Distribution: https://developer.amazon.com/post/Tx1FZ1NVQHKUHN/Manage-Bulk-App-Distribution-with-Whispercast-for-Kindle# I didn't see any discussion of pricing. How does Amazon charge these institutional users for paid apps? For instance, if a school librarian decides to download a 99 cent brain teaser to 10 Kindles, will that result in 10 app sales for us developers? If a 2nd grade classroom teacher decides to download a 1.99 reading comprehension app to 25 Kindles, will that show up as 25 app sales? Also, will institutional users be served mobile ad's the same as regular consumer/retail sales? Finally, is there any way developers can track their Whispercast Site/Institutional sales uniquely from regular consumer/retail sales in the Developer Portal? Thank you.

Why should this be a support request? What does it have to do with engineering? The question pretty clearly pertains to sales and marketing. I would expect institutions are asking the same question themselves when they sign-up. If they do a site-wide purchase of an app, what does it cost them? Also, the question is going to be pertinent to all app developers. It should be in the forums. Actually, it should have been discussed in the blog announcement to developers, particularly as the current Terms of Use' ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=mas_dp_eula?ie=UTF8&docId=1000667601&ie=UTF8&pop-up=1) contains these sections: "2.5 Downloading and Availability of Apps after Purchase. Once you have paid for an App, you may download copies of the App for your personal use to compatible Android devices." and "3.3 Separate Licenses to Use Apps. (ii) If the App does not include a Publisher EULA that specifies App license rights, Publisher grants you a limited, nontransferable license to download and use the App only for your personal and noncommercial purposes." I feel this is an important point as the Terms of Use contains an "All Sales Final" provision which seems not to be enforced: "2.4 All Sales Final. All purchases of Apps and Amazon-Sold In-App Products are final." I can handle an occasional return, but giving away site licenses is a completely different beast. Thank you. -Allan

Hi Allan, Whispercast requires every managed device to have its own unique Amazon.com user account. This means that the Whispercast admin of an organization must buy content for each user account they wish to send it to. For example, if they want to send a $1 app to 6 of their devices, they will be charged $6. Hope this information helps.
