Guidelines for migrating from Lambda to own Backendservice

Hello ,

I finished developing a skill using Alexa SDK v1 , Lambda as a backend and Dynamo DB as the datastore . I wanted to ask the guidelines for moving the backend from lambda to my own service since we will be able to have more control over the skill . I wanted to ask if this is a lot of work and if we create our own backend what are the requirements and other criteria and if it would be a lot of work from migrating from lambda . Do we just have to spin up a node js server that will be able to respond JSON similar to REST service ?
Any help is appreciated , thanks
