How can I control SmartHome things that are connected to Alexa via own backend service?

Hey Guys,

For one of my client I would like to control SmartHome devices via his Backend.

If a customer has an Echo or Echo Dot he is able to control more or less all of his Smart Home devices. Are we able to connect our Backend with the platform to control the connected devices? I found many solutions to make a device Alexa controllable but no description how to control other connected devices.

You can only control smart home devices whose device cloud you control or have access to directly. Account linking is used to allow control over different devices by Alexa, but unless you have access to those the device clouds of different devices, you can't control other company's smart home devices.
