Delay after user provides an answer to a question and then Alexa asking the next question

I have an Intent that has multiple slots and each time the user provides the information for a slot, Alexa would prompt for the answer to the next slot.

Unfortunately, what I have experienced is a long 6 second delay between the user telling Alexa the information and Alexa asking for the next slot value.

Has anyone experienced this behaviour before?

Well it might depend on how long does your code take to form the response. If you query the database, it might take this long, even though 6 sec. sounds extreme. Could you post what speech response do you get? Are you sure it doesn't have any break tags, long spaces or anything else, that might prolong it?
