Invocation name not recognized anymore

The skill we are currently developing cannot be invoked anymore by it's invocation name.

Yesterday, the skill could be invoked on an Amazon Alexa Echo and in the Alexa Simulator, but today Alexa does not recognize the name anymore.
No changes were made to the skill configuration since yesterday.
When I change the invocation name to something different, the skill can be started again, but the original invocation name remains unusable.

Were there any changes made to Alexa's speech recognition? Or are there any other possible reasons for this change in behaviour?

The development of Alexa skills is only worthwhile for our company if we can rely on the chosen invocation name to function permanently.

If I try to start the skill by saying "Alexa starte/öffne {invocation name}" (it's a german skill), Alexa will respond by saying that she is not sure.

But if I tell Alexa "Alexa starte skill" (to which she will respond by asking which skill it is that I want to start) and then tell her the invocation name of the skill, the skill will get started.

I have the same issue.

The skill id is amzn1.ask.skill.f59d833f-0dba-4c99-9ba8-ec4d66d29e2f and the function that is not able to call anymore is that.

Yesterday afternoon my TV mute skill stopped responding to its invocation name "silence". I quickly discovered that all my skills in 'development only' were ignoring the invocation name. I checked the Amazon site for 'events'. There were none. Published skills worked normally.


The fix was for each skill was, one by one, change the invocation name and then change it back again (allowing 2 min. for propagation with each change). That fixed the problem and all is now well.

Give that a try.

Hi, I have had the same issue recently. Since Tuesday 06/11 2019, our preprod app's invocation name has been working on and off on the simulator and mostly not working on device.
The bug appeared without any change from us. We then tried to change the invocation name to several other things, without success. It most of the time worked for about 20 minutes then didn't work anymore for no reason.
I've tried turning the app off and on.
It looks like it has now evolved since a few days ago into not working at all anymore.

I have the same Issue. I was able to open the Skill with wacken hut yesterday and today it is not possible anymore. Could you also give me some support. Best Regards :)
