App rejected for Kindle devices with NO reason given?

My app (that is one of the top grossing iPad apps in it's category in the iTunes store) was rejected as "not being compatible with Kindle devices". No reason whatsoever was given. And when I contacted support they wrote "we have no further information as to your test results on Kindle devices. If we do have additional information, we will reopen the ticket and notify you." We were given a problem to fix but that was for if we wanted to resubmit for "NON amazon devices" (we do not, this was a kindle only version, we already have the Google play version live for non amazon devices) but I was told that was NOT the reason it was rejected for kindle. No, that they prefer to keep to themselves for some reason? We've never experienced anything like this before, Apple always gives a reason.. we basically have NO recourse if there is no reason given for rejection. Has this happened to anyone else before and was it ever resolved?

Hi Ariana, We are sorry for the inconvenience. We are reviewing apps on a case-by-case basis for Kindle Fire Tablets. We consider a variety of factors as we evaluate each app, including the app’s quality, usefulness to our customers, and compatibility with the device. We may occasionally ask developers to submit their content to one of our media categories (such as Kindle, Amazon MP3, or Amazon Instant Video) if we feel customers would find the content most useful in one of those categories.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond, but I just don't get this at all. It's an app (not a movie or MP3 or anything else) and it's a highly successful app in both the iTunes store and now in Google Play. We have spent a lot of time and resources making sure that we did not EXCLUDE any of our potential customers (namely kindle fire users) and prepared a separate APK file JUST so we could support kindles. Isn't that what you want devs to do? Bring high quality top selling iOS apps and offer them to your Kindle users so that they aren't the second class citizens of the app ecosystem? I have a highly dedicated audience of customers that have been begging for this app for Android and Kindle. I will be sharing my story as a warning to other devs who are considering developing for Kindle, as well as my friends who might want to purchase a kindle device. The apps available for Kindle will never be on par with what is available in iTunes or Google Play for that matter if this is the way that Amazon treats developers who go out of their way to try to offer their app for Kindle users. And to offer no specific reason? That's just insult to injury.
