Kindle Fire HD Emulator Not Working

I'm having some difficulty getting the Kindle Fire HD Emulator running. I've installed HD7, set up the AVD to all instructions listed on the Support site. I've even tried re-installing all Kindle tools via the SDK Manager. When I launch the Kindle Fire Emulator, I only see the 'Android' UI, not 'Kindle Fire' A related question is that any emulator takes several minutes to 'boot' to the main UI screen. Is this normal? I'm running Win7 on a DELL laptop.

Hi Chapman, Thank you for your post. Please refer the following existing posts related to emulator launch issue: https://forums.developer.amazon.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=311&start=0&tstart=0 https://forums.developer.amazon.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=2294ࣶ https://forums.developer.amazon.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=2207࢟ The latest version of Android emulator comes with a feature called "snapshots". When you launch the AVD for the first time, you can save the snapshot. Once you save the state and try to launch it next time, choose to load from the snapshot, then the AVD will launch very quickly. Hope this information helps.

The 'use host GPU' option worked for me after I'd checked it, it's worth noting though that the emulator can take an age to fire up and may seem un-responsive until it's ready.
