Bluetooth Low Energy (Smart / 4.0) support in new Kindle devices

So on the specifications page it lists that there is support for Bluetooth 4.0 under bluetooth, but that the Android fork version is 4.2.2 API level 17. The Android API calls for Bluetooth LE are in 4.3 API level 18. Does Fire OS 3.0 have custom API calls available to connect to bluetooth low energy devices?

Hi Toaster9, There are no Bluetooth LE APIs exposed from our platform for Fire OS 3.0. As you said, Android brought the BLE profiles into the platform with API 18 (4.3). The Kindle Fire HDX and new Kindle Fire HD (2nd gen) devices are API 17 (4.2.2).

Good to know. Is there any plan to have the Bluetooth LE apis available in the next generation of the Kindle? Will those apis be available on the Fire Phone?
