How to see native resolution in emulator?

When I try to create a Kindle Fire HD 7 emulator, it appears in a very small window. The only improvement was when I turned off the default skin and set a resolution of 800 x 1280. In that case it created a window sized 608 x 972. So essentially I have no idea what the image quality is like on the real device. Is there a way to create the 800 x 1280 emulator window on a 1280 x 1024 monitor?
