Fritz, Based on the error you reported, it looks like you may be attempting to add our addon site as an Eclipse plugin update site? Instead of through Eclipse, the Kindle Fire emulator add-ons are installed through the Android SDK Manager. In the Setting Up Your Development Environment page at: https://developer.amazon.com/sdk/fire/setup.html There are instructions to get the Android SDK Manager as well as adding our addon.xml site to it. Ok, did it. "In the Android SDK Manager window, from the Tools menu, click Manage Add-on Sites" Before this I've tried it like the normal way over help->install new software

Yes, you need to add it as "Add-on" site instead of "Repository". It's great to know that you solved it. Please let us know if you face any issue. Thank you.

The question is old but I am facing the same issue and can't seem to find the tools menu when Android SDK manager is visible and can't we post screen shots i.e. images in here ?

Hi, The add on site mentioned contains basically the USB driver for Kindle tablets which is needed in Windows only, in Mac Kindle could be connected directly with out any explicit driver. Please note that above add on site used to contain the links for Kindle Emulators also what are discontinued to be supported now.
