Yes I ordered two of the same shirt this week - 1 in yellow and one in blue (Anvil). Not only did they smell horrendous, the yellow shirt could be seen through the print - expecially the black areas. Very poor quality.

Woah, not good! They have good printers if their Kornit deal is any indication - it's clearly that the people running them don't know how to set them up properly to give a high quality result, that's something the best DTG printers like Neato have worked hard over years to perfect and train staff on, you can't simply take those printers out of the box, turn them on, give it a shirt and a multi-color design and expect it to print brilliant quality Also it looks like they didn't use an under-base at all. The original design image doesn't appear to be to blame either, it looks to be of reasonable quality, and doesn't use any gradients or half-toning, just cartoon/comic style flat coloring, so it's rather worrying that the end result was so dodgy, especially the "grainy-ness" of it, it's almost like it's seen a long time of wear already :( :( sad

I wonder if it's because it is a color design on a dark shirt? I know that has been a problem before on other POD platforms.

It doesn't make it better, but I'm curious.

Every shirt we have ordered from merch has been very good, but most of those have been a white design on a dark shirt or a dark design on a light colored shirt.

Hope you get an answer.

I've ordered about 5 of my shirts and they have all been very good. So I think sometimes it's hit or miss.

All of my best sellers eventually get a 2 star review due to this issue

I have ordered many shirts from Merch since the program started and have only had 1 shirt that did not print well (it had areas that didn't pick up the ink properly).

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I still feel frustrated with the print and the QC, but it is good to hear that this is mostly an uncommon occurrence.

To reply to JL Patton: I've printed test shirts on dark shirts before that came out just fine. In this case, the screen print itself is of very poor quality. I think if it was on a white shirt, it would still be noticeably unacceptable.

I'm sure that there is a certain percentage of shirts that just don't print well, but then it comes down to QC, who shouldn't let a botched shirt end up in the hands of a paying customer.

Extremely disappointed, I'm a graphics designer by trade. I decide to print the entire CMYK color swatch on a black & on a white shirt so that I can be more sure of what the colors will look when they are printed. Just got a the shirts in a few day ago.

On the white, the colors look great solid & bright.

The black is another story, same issues as Phelps Road "Very faint colors, cracked print, missing print"

It seems like they are not lay the white base, I have gotten T-shirts sample printed on the Kornits machine from the trade shows an other places this print don't compare. The show samples are always going to an optimum print that can't be maintain on a realistic working scenario with a high volume of production demand like the Merch program, but with on site support from Kornit you can expect better.

All my work is crisp vibrant vector artwork so I know the artwork is not the issues. I know that Kornit has some special Photoshop actions to help with the White density and color enhancement, but you can't get your hands on those baby's unless you are a Kornit owner believe me I try!!! and I have try some more. But even then I think even if you have the perfect file set-up, the print quality will be determent by the machine operator.

Also a few day's back I design a shirt for a company an when they receive the order most of the left chest prints where a extremely crooked.

I'm a big supporter of the Merch program an I'm extremely grateful for the privilege to be part of the Merch program. But this machine are one of the most if not the most expensive DTG printer in the industry with the quality capability to back it up. I think operator training should one of the priority & quality control should be non negotiable.

Like everything Merch , I think that the program will keep getting better. Amazon has not made the type of investment it has on Merch for nothing. But quality print from excellent equipment with onsite manufacture support should not be an issue.

I ordered two shirts of my own to test the quality. One shirt black, the other white. Both were missing the print on the back, yet I paid the premium for double-sided (they were different designs). Like someone else mentioned, they smelled awful, and the print quality was unacceptable. Perpendicular lines somehow ended up not perpendicular, and the overall design itself wasn't angled properly, let alone the bad colors. I'll be moving to another service. This one is junk.

yeah i m so upset one of my best selling shirts got 3 bad reviews because of amazon shirts printing quality and my sales in general slowed down like crazy
