Image Protection - Better checks on designs to stop copyright infringement

Give us context: Listing to be checked better against copyright infringement. Including Watermarks on images so they can't be downloaded and used

·Provide details: Verify that a design is already listed on Amazon. I have been fighting copyright infringement for 2 weeks now and it keeps happening. If you would check to see if a design is already listed, and stop a second listing, even by the owner of the account, you could stop this dead in it's tracks. Keyword search to make sure something can be listed or not is OK, but does not stop copyright thieves and illegal listings. This is rampant on the Amazon site. I hate looking for a shirt, only to see 2 pages of the same shirt over and over again. Water marks are used all over the internet and you could easily use this to protect some images that people take off of your site and re-use on their own listings.

·Describe the impact: Would definitely save time for designers. searching for illegal copies of their best selling designs. Would also aid in users by not seeing 100 of the same shirt on 1 page. It looks horrible to be honest. It would give designers piece of mind that Amazon cares about infringement and won;t let it happen on their website. Water marks would make it more difficult for people to steal designs and use them for their own.

There are times where I would upload the same design to my account.

For instance, I sometimes offer a design in multiple colors, either because I want a more feminine or masculine look, or because I'd like to offer the design on a light colored shirt or a dark colored shirt... (where outlining would not look so great on the design)

If this feature was implemented the way you describe, creators would not have the opportunity to upload the same design to future new products, such as hoodies or phone cases.

I'd like to point out that every one of us has a seller or creator ID, and we should be allowed to upload our own designs as many times as we like on as many products as we like.

If this feature could be implemented with the above, I'd be all for it.

I definitely agree we need protection, but I do not agree with this statement:

I think the 'owner' of the image should be able to post it for sale multiple times if they want and here are a few reasons:

- Initially we were only allowed 2 shirt colors, some images may be posted again in different colors.

- an image can be posted on the front of the shirt, and also offered on the back of the shirt.

- in the future if new products are added we may have to post new products with our existing images if we are to offer them for sale. *Not sure if new products would automatically be offered as a new 'shirt style' or not, in this case we wouldn't have to recreate the products.

There may be more reasons but that's just a few I can think of.
