In my case, it’s George Winston. I out my kids to bed listening to Bach. I have done it si ce he was born. Out of nowhere, it plays some crappy song by George Winston instead of Bach every few months. Not it is trying to get me to listen to his new album. I never want to hear anything by George Winston again! It keeps messing up my kid going to sleep!

I'm ready to throw the kids echo dot in the trash! Even with the explicit block set, trash music with inappropriate content still plays. Don't try to poison the children -- let them be kids!!

Set up my kids echo dots yesterday and I'm on the verge of returning them today (and telling my kids the Alexas died from corona virus).

The explicit content filter is useless when the songs can still refer to any array of PG13 and R content without using any profanity. Hell, I should be able to block a song if I don't like the beat or the key they decided to record in.

Without advanced, preferably expanded controls the kids echo dots are not kid safe.

It's not even that hard, just let me click on a song in the history and select NEVER PLAY THIS AGAIN.

Is there any news on this, in particular the ability to block a particular artist.

My wife wants to play country music but there's one artist Alexa just seems obsessed with that she detests. Hates his voice and singing style.

She's turned Alexa off because of it.

How about this -- "Alexa don't play songs by <artist name>." Considering it's embedded into the metadata of every song this should be something someone could knock out in an afternoon.

If artist == <artist name> then skip.

I also want to be able to set up a approved/blocklist for my kid. Pinkfong is on that list. Not hard.....

Still nothing on this? Come o people. As much as you charge to use it I would think this is a simple request. Mine is Garth Brooks, If I never hear another song by him I would lead a happy life. Id even let my kids listen to What Does The Fox Say by Ylvis every once in a while..

We can block calls but we they will not let us have song or artist block list of our own?
Sounds like Amazon wants to keep "control" of us, in my opinion.
I've been asking for this since my first echo device. I want an absolute "do not play" list. There are few songs that we just NEVER want to hear.
One song at Christmas i NEVER want to hear. I hate this song..... After the first chorus, it's just abuse to hear it again, and again.

Choosing which music I wanna play IS NOT ENOUGH! To have a seamless experience, I should be able to block musics/artists/albuns that I'd never want to listen to!!

If you'll still be pretending you aren't listening to this OBVIOUS request, then I guess I'll have to turn to Spotify which DO OFFER this functionality.

I just can't believe we've to ask for a basic funcionality like this... it's a shame!!
